She was born Rosemary Brown in 89 Frederica Street, Islington, London on 30 August 1951 to Robert & Sheila Brown from Northern Ireland. Returned to Derry in 1956 and later joined Thornhill College in 1963. She left there in 1970 after winning the Eurovision Song Contest with All Kinds of Everything. With her father as personal manager alongside music agent Dick Katz, the 18-year-old began her music career, becoming an award-winning pop star as well as a top Catholic music singer/songwriter. She married Damien Scallon in 1978. They have four children. Spent the 1990s in the USA with EWTN. Was MEP for Connacht-Ulster from 1999-2004. Formed DS Music Productions in 2006. Home is Claregalway, Ireland.
