I'm Chef Dave and I come from a small town called Jementah in Segamat, Johor. Between 2012 and 2019, I was working with 5 Star International Brand Hotels. After that, I sailed with the Disney Cruise line as a western cuisine chef.
However, the end of 2019 was a turning point in my life where I went vegan overnight after I watched 2 videos about cruelty in the egg and dairy industries, which left me feeling very emotionally disturbed.
Just a few weeks before 2020, I made a decision to go vegan and stand in solidarity with animals. To fight for injustice happening towards animals and be a voice for the voiceless.
I'm currently working on veganizing all traditional Malaysian, and Asian food to showcase to the world that being a vegan is much easier than you think.
I hope my journey can inspire others as a vegan chef with content surrounding vegan life, food and travel.
