Marco van Bergen (1993) is a prolific director from the Netherlands whose thought-provoking films tell poignant stories of love, family and sexuality. His first film, "WATER" (2012) which tells the story of a boy who discovers an injured soccer player by the swimming pool and decides to help him, has been a hit on film festivals around the world, and amassed over 10 million views on YouTube. Followed by "WASTELANDS" (2013) which tells the story of Marc and Olaf who go camping together, when Marc discovers a secret about Olaf and their relationship, also went to many film festivals and received crittical acclaim. His Swedish short film "JAG AR POLISEN" (2014) was also met with critical acclaim. His latest film "SOUTH OF HEAVEN" (2019) shows his progression in life and growth as filmmaker. Combining his love for calm cinematography with his gripping dialogues and fleshed-out characters. Currently developing his new film, Van Bergen works from Amsterdam.
