Ghaamid Abdulbasat is an award-winning activist, environmental consultant, ecopreneur, ecohydrologist, National Geographic explorer & certified scienteteller, in the climate and biodiversity space.
He is an international policy negotiator in the Post 2020 Global Biodiversity Framework of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity and nationally founded a non-profit focused and training youth and women on the inclusion policy agenda of biodiversity and climate framework.
Being the founding executive of the Earth Day Network and the Biodiversity Organization in Tanzania enabled him to train and mobilize local communities on climate education, ecological restoration as well as establish the Tanzanian Youth Biodiversity Network initiative working in amplifying youth and community voices in biodiversity and environmental policies for informed decision-making, impacting more than a thousand community stakeholders in mainstreaming their agenda in biodiversity and climate negotiations.
