I started this channel to showcase some of the schools of Chinese martial arts that are little or unknown in the west. There are many rare styles that I am interested in that can not be found on youtube, or the English language part of the internet. As many of these styles are unheard of outside of China I thought that this would be a good way to introduce them to people. I'm also trying to educate people by showing them the beauty, history, and culture of these arts, and the spiritual, medical and martial knowledge hidden in them. To do this I try to include some information on the history, unique features and area of origin of the styles featured here.

Veterans, eye witnesses and survivors of the longest conflict of WWII – the battle between China and Japan – tell moving, shocking and harrowing stories of what they lived through. During the 8 year war, around 14 million people died and another 80 to 100 million Chinese became refugees in their own land – fleeing the conflict. La Maestra Loca, means the crazy teacher. It was a name that was given me by a group of third graders, and before that a group of 10 year olds in China. I absolutely embrace the title. Acquisition Driven Instruction (ADI) is the teaching methodology and approach that I use in my classroom. I also use Organic World Language (OWL) strategies. I am constantly trying to revise my teaching practices to provide the best combination of methodologies to my students. Romanian based in Shanghai, China, I am genuinely interested and passionate about people from all walks of life. I was born at some important crossroads in human history, when technological advancement makes it easy and cheap to travel anywhere in the world, but at the same time unique and amazing cultures are all assimilated into one by the powerful vortex globalization is. Mackenzie Johnson, better known as MAKJ, uncovered a passion for mixing and DJ’ing at only 15 years of age while living overseas in China as a professional racecar driver. The teenager soon grabbed hold of his first set of Technics 1200 Turntables and the rest was history. As a 17-year-old, Johnson made his way back to the United States with a unique outlook and greater ambition than ever before. The insight Johnson acquired abroad gave him incredible local momentum; Johnson found himself repeatedly invited to DJ countless local university and community college events in his hometown of San Luis Obispo, CA. It was at this age that MAKJ also received priceless DJ’ing tutelage from one of the best in history, the late great DJ AM himself, who trained MAKJ in the art of scratching over the course of several one-on-one lessons.
